Well Logs: What You Need to Know
A well log is a document containing vital information about a well. Contractors must file well logs with
the state upon completion of all new wells. Information typically contained in well logs includes:
- A state well number, unique to the well.
- Owner and location.
- The name of the well driller.
- Other items include water levels, the drilling method used, the depth of the well, the amount and type
of casing used, the size and type of screen used, and the type of pump in the well.
